Summer Vacation 2010 Part Four

Delayed but oh well. This will be wordier because I have few pictures of Thursday and Friday.

Wednesday was so exhausting we took another beach day. Some baseball, some swimming, some videos. Pleasant all around. With one exception: Ryan woke at 6am crying in pain. His knee hurt. We couldn't find any bruising or swelling or anything. All day he crawled around or begged to be carried. He especially wouldn't do stairs. But we sorta blew him off. Once in the water he was happy and kicking like normal.

There was a thunder so we headed into the village of N. Conway to check out the shops. Ice cream shop, jewelry shop and one toy store later the kids were finished. Ryan is still limping. Dinner that night was at a very nice restaurant, the Muddy Moose. Ryan thankfully sat while we waited for food nicely. He did have some assistance:

Look close - you can see my ipod ear bud cord.

Friday was more hanging around and beach time. But by lunch we decided Ryan's knee complaints were persistent and consistent enough to warrant a doctor visit. Off to the local ER which had a urgent care clinic. Our insurance approved it if we got our pediatrician's approval. So while driving there I was on the phone for ages. [Couldn't call from the house, crappy service] Got all the i's dotted and in we went. They were awesome. Short waits, nice staff, excellent radiology department.

Turned out he had internal swelling in his knee and we were told to switch from Tylenol to Motrin. After the latest round of recalls that was tricky to find. But I succeed. We tried to buy an umbrella stroller at Wal-Mart for Boston but it wasn't right. I kinda wish we had bought one anyway but Boston worked out. Which is the story for next time.
