For everyone who is living outside the world of elementary school aged girls, HSM is short for High School Musical. A Disney production series which comes complete with an amazing amount of commercialized crap. For two plus years Zoe has insisted she does not like it nor a similar minded product, Hannah Montana.
Now I don't care one bit if she likes this stuff. But it has made for some awkward moments around birthday party themes, afterschool program movie choices, etc. Not to mention the fact that once you eliminate Barbies, HSM and HM, quite literally 80% of Toys'r'Us stock is outta bounds.
Does this behavior remind any one of Ben's attitude as a young boy? Refusing to play soccer because it was a) a team sport and b) what everyone else was doing??????
Mike was flipping through stations tonight looking for something to interest Zo during her mandatory "split the children up before they kill each other" time. HSM #1 was just starting. He did not inform her what she was watching until she was totally sucked in.
And of course it was a double feature with HSM #2 this evening. As per the many many commericals.
It was very hard not to laugh at Zo when she asked if she could watch them in order and could we record #2. So hard I couldn't help myself. Which didn't make me popular with the overtired grumpy girl.
